Midlands Social Housing HR Forum

This remodelled service proved a great success last year, when a total of 18 Housing Associations from the West and East Midlands subscribed. Meetings regularly attract 15+ delegates.

The Forum offers

  • 3 half – day meetings per year held in venues in and around Birmingham
  • a network of colleagues working in both personnel and training
  • an opportunity to get immediate feedback and ideas on your current ‘hot’ issues or problems
  • formal inputs on topics you choose plus regular legal updates
  • an opportunity to meet your CPD requirements
  • a forum for benchmarking, and
  • bespoke local events from time to time, open to non-members by agreement and marketed separately.

The Forum is facilitated by Central Consultancy & Training on behalf of the members, and includes regular legal updates from Elizabeth Hargreaves of Cobbetts. Last year’s topics included:

  • flexible benefits
  • performance management
  • benchmarking
  • equality and diversity – organisational development and HR issues
  • managing change
  • sickness absence
  • development needs analysis/idea sharing
  • disability awareness
  • stress in the workplace.

Legal updates included:

  • Data Protection Act
  • Working Time Regulations and the minimum wage
  • Performance management
  • Schedule 1 and compromise agreements
  • References

The fee for 2007/8 is £315.00 + VAT per company for one delegate. You will be able to substitute another colleague if you wish. Additional delegates can be accommodated at minimal cost to cover refreshments.
